Holly specializes in . . .

USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals
Holly has assisted many riders in achieving USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals.  Professionals aspire to improve their resume, Adult Amateurs desire recognition, and Young Riders are creating a resume with Holly.  Holly has celebrated many championships and medals with her students!   Holly has coached at the USDF National Championships, the NAJYRC Championships, and many USDF Regional Championships.

Adult Amateurs with or without competition goals
Holly enjoys teaching Adult Amateurs with the desire to begin dressage correctly.  Many of Holly’s students are Adult Amateurs who began riding late in life, or returned to riding after children or careers.  Kingland Farm is the ideal facility for those that want a family atmosphere without the pressures of competition.  After lessons or rides, enjoy friendship and camaraderie with Kingland clients.  It is a family!

Holly improves Eventer dressage scores, including Professionals, Pony Clubbers and Adult Amateurs.  Focusing on dressage has improved dressage scores to high 20s and low 30s, and has led to more successful show jumping and cross-country rounds.  Kingland Eventers have competed from Beginner Novice to Preliminary, including CCI* and United States Pony Club members.

Young Horses
Holly has great experience bringing along young horses with proper basics in dressage.  Horses in Holly’s program will thrive in dressage training, and will also enjoy hacking out, gymnastics with cavalettis, off-site fun, and competitions.  Holly will prepare the horse for the client or compete the horse herself.

Also, enjoy monthly clinics with Linda Zang, 5* FEI Dressage Judge, at Kingland Farm.  Audit or ride, everyone is welcome to learn from this amazing woman with a wealth of knowledge!

Holly began riding at the age of five.  From leadline, she moved to 4-H clubs and then to the United States Pony Club.  She earned her C-3 with the Blue Ridge Hunt Pony Club.  She continued her involvement with the Pony Club by instructing members while in college.  Once out of college, Holly’s dressage career began.

She worked as Linda Oliver’s assistant , and has ridden with top Dressage trainers and judges such as Linda Zang,  Axel Steiner, Lisa Wilcox, Jim Kofford, Jeanne McDonald, Nicole Uphoff, Uve Steiner, Albrecht Hiedemann, and Linda Konigsburg.  Holly believes that each trainer has something different and special to offer, and thrives on molding her techniques and philosophies by merging all theories.

Holly’s training has been focused on Linda Zang’s coaching since 2015, hosting monthly clinics at her Kingland Farm.  Together they focus on rider position, accuracy, and harmony between horse and rider.

“Each horse has a different, individual personality and must be trained according.  I am not a trainer that has one technique that must be applied to all horses.  While basic dressage training must be mastered, not all horses will achieve this goal the same way.  It is my job to create new and different exercises to encourage and   ‘aid’ the horse in its training.  I feel so fortunate to be able to fulfill this dream that began as a child.”
